I believe education and skills are key to breaking down barriers to employability and crucial if issues relating to diversity and inclusion are to be addressed in the cultural, creative, and sports sectors.
Recent Projects
2023 – On going – Solent and Hampshire Local Skills Improvement Plan – Creative Network South is working with Hampshire Chamber of Commerce to implement identified priorities for the creative sector including Skills for Life Bootcamps and the brokerage of pathways to employment.
2019 – Home, Here or London – Review of the challenges the Central South faces in retaining graduate talent – with Dr Simon Eden, Southern Policy Centre, Sponsored by Willmott Dixon.
2014 – Ongoing – Helped shape and continue to assist in delivering (as a business coach) Ravensbourne University SEEDS programme (Self-Employment Entrepreneurship and Diversity). The first Entrepreneurship Programme designed by and for Neuro-Divergent people.
2018 – Facilitated round table discussions to explore how more apprenticeship and work based learning opportunities could be made more accessible to neuro divergent people (p28) for Artswork and Achievability.
2012 – Ongoing – Director – Making Theatre Gaining Skills – Improving life chances by opening pathways to employment.
2010 – Commissioned and helped secure Learning and Skills Improvement Agency and Arts Council England funding for Pilot Creative Apprenticeship Programme – managed by Artswork. The programme is still running, and has been developed to offer a wide range of entry level employment options.
2006 – Commissioned the Cultural Learning Curve Report articulating the connection between the power of art and sport to engage learners and the mainstream skills agenda relating to employability and productivity. Culture South East.
